Slovakia has implemented the Photocopying/photo-reproduction (Art. 5.2(a) InfoSoc) exception in Section 43 of the Copyright Act. The national exception is slightly more restrictive than the EU exception.

Implementation summary:

This exception allows for the making of a copy by means of transmitting the work to paper or other similar base using a reprographic device or other technical devices with similar effect by a legal person acting for its own need or by a natural person, personally or through a third person. The copy may be publicly distributed by means of free-of-charge transfer of title. The provision explicitely excludes the use of complete literary works or of substantive parts thereof, as well as use of musical works recorded in writing and graphical expression of architectural works.
