Sweden has implemented the Use for advertising the exhibition or sale of works of art (Art. 5.3(j) InfoSoc) exception in Article 24(2) of the Act (1960:729) on copyright in literary and artistic works. The national exception closely resembles the EU exception.

This exception allows for the reproduction in pictorial form of works of fine art with the purpose to advertise an exhibition or a sale of the works of fine art, but only to the extent necessary for the promotion of the exhibition or the sale.

Art. 11(2) requires that when a work is used publicly under an exception, the source must be, as a general rule, stated to the extent and in the manner required by proper usage. It also requires that the work must not be altered more than necessary for the intended use.
