Greece has implemented the Use during religious or official celebrations (Art. 5.3(g) InfoSoc) exception in Article 27a of Law 2121/1993, Intellectual Property, Related Rights and Cultural Issues. The national exception is slightly more restrictive than the EU exception.

Remarks: According to case law, 'official ceremony' means any ceremony, in which institutions participate, perform a state function, such as the official celebration of a national anniversary. However, according to the Supreme Court, the qualification of is not automatic for every event that is organized by e.g. the Municipality, but is assessed on a case-by-case basis..

Under art. 52 of the Law the limitation also applies mutatis mutandis to related rights.
