Bulgaria has implemented the Quotation for criticism or review (Art. 5.3(d) InfoSoc) exception in Article 24, para 1, p.2 of the Copyright and Neighbouring Rights Law (Член 24, ал.1, т.2 от Закона за авторското право и сродните му права). The national exception is slightly more restrictive than the EU exception.

This exception allows the use of quotations from works already disclosed, for the purpose of criticism or review. The quotation must comply with fair practice and must be used to the extent required by the specific purpose. Indicating the source and the name of the author is required, unless impossible.
