Bulgaria has implemented the Private copying (Art. 5.2(b) InfoSoc) exception in Article 25, para 1, p.2 of the Copyright and Neighbouring Rights Law (Член 25, ал.1, т.2 от Закона за авторското право и сродните му права). The national exception closely resembles the EU exception.

This exception allows the reproduction of works (other than computer programs and architectural works) regardless of the carrier, by a physical person for personal use, unless done with commercial purposes, and against payment of fair compensation.
